FE Exam Pass April 2010 - Indiana - Lost?

Hello all.

A general question, seeking advice from folks who may have had a similar experience.

I passed the FE as a college senior at Purdue University in April 2010, then I went into the automotive industry and never looked back. Until now.

I’m hoping to reboot and make progress towards a PE license. The first step is finding that FE pass notification from 2010. I contacted NCEES by email and learned that they only have records back to October 2010. D’oh. NCEES advised me to contact the state where I took the exam, Indiana, and ask the state for a copy of the pass notification.

I emailed the state of Indiana licensing board, “PLA”, by email a week ago. I haven’t heard back yet. Unfortunately no phone number for their office.

I really can’t recall if the letter was physical or digital 13 years ago. Are there any other parallel paths I might pursue to obtain that pass letter?

The Indiana Board should have a record, it may just take a little more time for them to get it verified. I took the FE in Texas and they verified 27 years later when I applied to take the PE Exam (I did find my old pass letter and Copy of my EIT certificate in a box of stuff if I need to prove I passed, but it never came to that).

Thanks for your encouraging words. I received my EIT certificate yesterday by email!

I did not receive a response back regarding the FE pass letter, but I'll wait patiently. Would be nice to have that for applying in other states for the PE, as I don't know if they'll accept the Indiana EIT as the "FE pass letter".

I would look at getting a NCESS record if you are going to apply to multiple states. It takes some effort to get established and keep it up to date, but very easy when applying to other states.

That's a great idea and definitely my intent. I started my NCEES record already. Cheers!

As a recenty retired PE, I strongly recommend initiating your NCEES Record early in your career, and then updating it regularly throughout your working years.
