Dear Engineer Boards Family,

I am excited to let you all know that I passed my FE exam on my 10th attempt (FE Civil – 3 attempts and FE Electrical & Computer – 7 attempts)!

Although I earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1999 (and a Master of Civil Engineering degree {to help me pass the FE Civil Exam} in 2019), I decided to pursue my FE Civil exam in 2008 in which I wanted to utilize my transportation (2003 – 2006) and wastewater (2006 -2020) industry work experiences in a Civil/Environmental engineering environment (despite enduring 2 Electrical & Computer engineering work-related layoffs in 2001 & 2003 which changed my work career trajectory).

Although not having a B.S in Civil Engineering degree with 5 years of combined Civil/Environmental engineering work-related experience in 2008, I used Kaplan/PPI materials to study for the FE Civil exam. I failed all 3 FE Civil exam attempts in 2010, 2011, and 2020.

As a result, to help me to solve my FE exam failing issue, I began a part-time in-person/online tutoring business in February 2020 to teach STEM subjects related to the FE exam to k-12 and college students. As I tutored STEM students throughout the year of 2020 along with obtaining full-time employment as an Engineering Systems Specialist with a Rural Electric Cooperative (electric utility) in March 2020, I decided in December 2020 to switch my FE exam preparation from FE Civil to FE Electrical & Computer. I switched to FE Electrical & Computer exam studies based on my love for this subject and based on my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.

Although I took FE exam preparation courses using PPI/Kaplan (which are good courses in my opinion) despite 3 failed FE Civil attempts and later 5 failed FE Electrical and Computer attempts, I later decided that I needed to search for another supplemental FE exam study course in which I could watch FE Electrical & Computer exam study videos to prepare for the FE exam at an affordable price.

As a result, I found and enrolled in Wasim Asghar’s Study for FE On-Demand course (Best Source to Study for the FE Electrical and PE Power Exams) in December 2020. Although I was using both Kaplan/PPI and Study for FE exam preparation materials simultaneously from December 2020 to March 2023, I felt like using both of these materials at the same time did not provide the FE exam passing results that I was looking despite failing the FE Electrical & Computer exam 5 times during this time frame.

In March 2023, I later consulted Wasim regarding his FE Live Training Course that he e-mailed me info about in September 2022. After enrolling in Wasim’s Live Training in April 2023 (January – April course) and later in May – July 2023, I took the FE Electrical & Computer exam in August 2023 (failed) and later in October 2023 (passed).

In addition to help me pass the FE exam on my 10th attempt with Wasim’s Study for FE materials prior to taking the FE Exam on October 21, 2023, I later resume working with my online tutoring business in early October 2023 in which I tutored a Master of Electrical Engineering student on Convolution (subject) homework problems which reinforced my conceptual understanding which assisted me overcoming the FE exam passing hump! When you teach or tutor someone else in FE exam related subjects, it reinforces your personal FE exam topic concept understanding.

Thank you for reading my FE exam passing story! Please feel free to contact me with any FE exam passing questions that you may have.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing! Felt like reading this encouraged me to sign up to retake my PE exam once again.
