which survey book is good for "objective type" questions (non-calculation questions)

is paul como book good as a reference for objective questions... like for example, what is a parcel map?, etc...

i dont need a book for calculation.. i need a good book for non-calculation questions.. preferably with index..

I took ca survey with prometric today and it sucked. Probably not answering your question but there are quite a bit of non calc question that totally got me but would probably be so easy to answer for those who have survey field experience...

I put in about 125 hrs of study, went through 4 books and few practice exams and I felt I can only do 60% of the test and some calc problems takes about 1 min to think and kind of long to solve.... Oh well. Fingers crossed. I felt I was ready walking into the exam but didn't feel good walking out...

And no, cumo book is not a good source for that type of objective question

Hmmm... I don't think I had anything but PPI's Survey Principles (along with other books containing mostly problems). You could get the Subdivision Map Act for free on-line (but I don't think you'll need it for anything but the very basics). Don't forget to know the noteable sections of the Engineer's Act. If you still have your Survey college book, that can help. Check out the Caltrans LS/LSIT workbook too. You can also pick a toppic from the Survey test plan and do an internet search to learn more. Just some free ideas.

I used Cuomo and it was okay for me. As a PLS I can attest to some subjective errors in his text, but overall a good preparation resource Also buy Boniface's sample examinations, very good exam prep.
