MP's a travel ninja. I nominate him for president of the planning committee.

I'm working on convincing Mrs. mudpuppy.  She's not keen on Labor Day because we're planning a trip with her family to northern Wisconsin the weekend prior, but I'll keep working on her.

Doesn't have to be Labor Day. Just thought it would be an extra day to not have to burn a vacation day.

You going to stop in and say hi???  What part of WI?

Hayward.  Her grandparents used to own a few cabins on Lost Land Lake, and we're visiting the resort that now owns them.  We're planning to fly into MSP and drive from there, so we won't be passing through your neighborhood.

And the sign said the long haired hippy people need not apply..

Who really wants to talk about taxes anyways?

My missing 1099 finally turned up in my mailbox yesterday.  WTF USPS.....

Oh well, now I can finally get started on figuring out how much I owe!  Honestly, I don't know why i am doing this.  I could still claim the Northern Mariana Islands as my home of record and still pay taxes there, which could potentially save me thousands.  But between potentially being paid thousands as an Alaskan resident, the almost-guarantee of an IRS audit, and my complete and utter disdain for the government of the Northern Mariana Islands, I made the decision to cut the ties and give up the tax breaks. That may be a mistake on a purely fiscal level, but it just feels like the right thing to do.

I finally got my taxes done yesterday, and I actually get a refund!

BUT... my accountant called me today, and when she went to file electronically, the IRS rejected my son's social security number as "not belonging to someone under the age of 17" for the child tax credit.  WTF!   So now I have to go home, pull out his SS card and birth certificate, and if it all matches up, I guess that means that either the SS administration fucked up his record, or someone has stolen his identity???

Kind of disturbing....

seriously procrastinating here, just starting the return.

I filed ours last Monday. Combined fed and state we will get back 6200

We did our taxes back in February. Got a big chunk of our Fed taxes back because we "only" worked through May. Found out we're essentially tax exempt for a while.
