The regional meetings also have no direct bearing on the release of the results, and the participatns themselves don't know when things may be released. But the meetings do tend to occur slightly before or during the release of results. A few cycles ago Alaska was hosting a regional meeting and the office was caught offguard by the release of results. Alaska wound up delaying the release a couple days as a result.

Petroleum is an October only exam, so their meeting has no bearing on the release of April results.

Whenever people ask how I think I did, I tell them I'm not sure (because I really don't know) and they say "Oh, you'll be fine! I'm sure you passed!" I hate it more than if someone would just agree with me that there's a high possibility that I failed.

I'm with you guys.  Whenever I talk about the test, my mom is like, "I KNOW you passed" and then starts acting all psychic about it.  It's just gonna make it that much worse when I see the red box.  Luckily after I told my coworkers I was probably retaking the test in October, they all shut up about it.

Same here about EVERYTHING.  Only like 3 people know they will be released soon--the rest I told the standard 8 weeks for a reason.  And I wish instead of "I'm sure you passed" people would say something more along the lines of "Well, you studied good---so if you didn't get it this time, I am sure you will next time."  I cannot handle the overly optimistic people who have too much faith in me... LOL.

Right now, I'm in professional limbo. Like the PE means literally NOTHING in my field (seriously, aerospace doesn't use them), but middle management found out I'd taken it last fall (AFTER I'd taken it), and decided that was going to be the necessary minimum for me to ever get future promotions, level change (I'm about 3 years overdue for) or even raises.

So, it's especially defeating when people are so certain that I've passed when I've taken it twice and already, knowingly, failed it once (and I'm nearly certain I've failed again).

Haha yes! I had one person say that to me and then "It not really a big deal if you fail. Almost half the people here who took it failed." That leaves me feeling much better than the people who tell me they're confident I passed.

I really like when people tell me it took more than once.  I mean, I feel like I'm pretty smart, and I know what it is I do at work, so it should be a cake walk but it is not.

The guy who told me that failed twice and I would consider him one of the smartest guys in our department. I'm usually a good test taker so I felt pretty confident but like you said, it was definitely not a cake walk haha.

I really like when people tell me it took more than once.  I mean, I feel like I'm pretty smart, and I know what it is I do at work, so it should be a cake walk but it is not. 

I like knowing that other smart people I know had to take it more than once, too.  Makes me feel better.

The Department Manager (the big boss) asked for a test recap the Monday after the test, and even though I told him that I had a bad morning and a good afternoon, he was all, "better start working on your SER" ... eek

Supplementary Experience Record (SER) - In Texas, this a narrative of your engineering experience which is required for licensing.  It used to be required before you could sit for the exam, but because of decoupling, it can be completed at anytime during the application process.
