Yes, SPAM was a staple, and the Mariana's rate of diabetes i rivaled only by that of certain Native American communities.  But I'm sure Spam has nothing to do with that.

I ran in an ADA 5k a few weeks ago and they said that 1 out of every 3 people in Hawaii has diabetes or pre-diabetes. That's unbelievable.
