Well, I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel..... just barely. I have all my reference material in hand and tabbed. I have become familar with the depth refernce material ( transportation) and I have done lots of problems. I have really concentrated on the transportation to this point, probably 75% of my time. I figure with 48 out of 80 questions being trasnportation that was a good strategy.

There are 5 Saturdays left before the exam and I plan to take a mock exam each weekend. I believe I have just enough exams. I have the 2011 NCEES trasportation exam

.

I have the newest edition of the Goswami practice exams (2) I have the Lindberg practice exam, the Mikes morning session, and the Goswami morning session (2)

I think the Lindberg is probably the tougher of the bunch, so I may do that first to boost confidence going in. Any thoughts?

From my experience the Lindeburg practice exam is rife with questions that are either too time consuming or beyond the scope of the exam. I won't go as far as to say that it's a waste of time, just know going in that you'll likely encounter a number of WTF questions.

I can't comment on the other practice exams buy the NCEES sample problems are the most representative of what you'll actually see on test day.

I did one mock exam using six minute solutions the Friday before the exam.

Passed first time.

Capt Worley

Did you pull questions from each of the six minute solutions? I actually do have them all available for use?

Actually, now that i think about it, I believe it was the NCEES practice exam. Dunno. It was seven yeas ago.

But it had forty questions for the morning and you picked a depth for the afternoon forty.

Well, I put in 8 hours of exam taking on saturday and graded at 78%. However, there is no way I finished all 80 questions. I did the All in One practice exam from Goswami. The problems seem very long. For example, I did a LOS example for the transporation depth portion and got it correct. However it took nearly 25 miutues to complete. I completed about 28 questions in the morning and about 25 in the afternoon. It was still worth doing. I would rather go into the real exam and think " man this is easy" than have it be my first exam.

Actually, I found the practice exams from Goswami to be very accurate. They were quite useful for me in my prep for the exam. I worked ncees problems and the goswami problems exclusively. :2cents:

Mike,

You took the Civil Water right? That's what I plan on taking someday. Did you use any of Lindburgs material?

Yes that's what I took. As far as Lindburg's materials, I really only used the CERM. Personally, I found the practice problems which accompany the CERM to be a little time consuming. I was more interested working problems that were likened unto the ncees practice problems.

I did not use any practice exams the first time and failed, only used the NCEES one the second time and passed. I referenced the NCEES one many times throughout the exam though, problems are very similar.

Actually, since 25% of the PM exam is "Other" you don't really have 48/80 transpo questions. More like 38/80. Just a reminder.

As a matter of fact, if you haven't already take some time to look through the NCEES outline for the breadth and depth topics of the specific module that you plan to take. It is very important to know and cover those topics. :2cents:

Thanks. I have done that. You both make a good point. Transportation alone is not 48/80
