Another - Only in America - sex/golf situation

I work in the same city she is from, which has about 50% homosexual population. Even in that city , palm springs, the transgenders are discriminated against. There was a big blow up because a high-end gay oriented ultra-lounge kicked a group out. On pipeline replacement project, there was a...

    Does McDonald's hate the homeless?

I was in SF this summer and drove thru that McDs. My wife and i both commented on how thick the homeless were there and on Haight street. The McDs is right across the street from goldengate park. It looks like they sleep in the park and hang out at the McDs during the day.

Can someone please verify this answer?

    L=6 cannot work: if L=6, then 44/(L/2-3)^2--> 44/(6/2-3)^2--> 44/0= infinity

    CA results

I dont think there is any rhyme or reason for mailing paper or plastic cards. My plastic card came a couple of years after getting the PE. The PLS card came right after i passed, which was the same time as my PE renewal. The state goofed up on my PLS card and wrote " Land Sureveyor". They...

    CA result date for 2010?

I endured the wait three times; twice for the PE and once for the LS. All three times the wait was 16 weeks. What you're waiting on is the board to have the meeting, but that date is based on the state specific written tests. The PLS has written portion that is very time consuming to grade. I...

Calif Survey and Seismic Results?? when

Typically, you will receive the results about 1 week after the next meeting of the board. Though, I'm not sure how the budget problems affect the schedule. If you failed, they will send you a slip to reapply for the exam.

    PE Civil Exam-Surveying Topics

The LSIT is closed book like the EIT. The PLS is open book like the PE. In addition to the above mentioned reference, CalTrans has surveying study material (free books and videos) that would also be helpful. I can't remember the link, but if you google it the website will show up.

I took some photos on a recent trip to san diego. I uploaded them to flickr (this is my first attempt at uploading). http://www.flickr.com/photos/15920576@N06/...57624056671608/ I had some good results, but they could have been better with a tripod or monopod. Let me know what you think, and...

Cool photo. What settings did you use? I recently purchased the canon t2i kit. I'm starting to look like a Japanese tourist when we go out. I'm looking to get more lenses. What are your thoughts on used lenses from eBay or craigslist; or gray market or refurbished lenses (Adorama lists the...

    Ultimate Book Cart

I initially thought it was excessive, until I looked at your profile and saw 'structual'. Take Anyhing I say here as opinion, and constuctive criticism. For the majority of people taking the PE, that many books would be more of a hinderance than a benifit. A cart 1/3 of that should be used for...

    LSIT

do you have a CA civil pe? I. Think the CA pe counts toward the LS because of the surveying portion of the pe exam. I might be mistaken, but the person to contact would be Ric Moore; he reviews the applications for the state.

    Big bottom

the GM where I work (old school engineer) busted me on this one. You don't "pour" concrete, you "place" it; he said you pour coffee not concrete. To not confuse it with placing a precast concrete object, I'll use the phrase "cast in place". He also got me on letting concrete "dry".

    LSIT

Is your goal to get the LS? If so, then yes it would be worth while to get the LSIT. If not, then don't bother. No additional abilities will be gained by the LSIT. Also, check your state laws, I was able to get the CA PLS without taking the LSIT (but we have a surveying component to the civil pe).

    Windows 7

I recently upgraded ( via free upgrade) to 7 from vista. The os is faster to boot and open programs. From what I've heard it was designed to be more lightwieght to run on the small, lowpower netbooks. No complaints so far.

    Treatment Plant Operator Certification

Have you worked as an operator at WWTP? The state is very inflexable when it comes to time spent as an operator. I'm working on the water treatment operator and distribution certs, but I hit a ceiling because I don't operate the system, I ONLY design/engineer the system. Other than that, you...
