You should get something from CA PELS a week, maybe 10 days, before the filing date for the October 2010 exam. So I'd say no later than July 12.

Typically, you will receive the results about 1 week after the next meeting of the board. Though, I'm not sure how the budget problems affect the schedule. If you failed, they will send you a slip to reapply for the exam.
