New discovery:

1. If you let the aircraft sit for an extended time (9 weeks) without moving it, the tires get flat spots.

2. It takes 7 or 8 landings to get rid of the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa from the flat-spotted tires.

Similar things happen to all tires that sit out overnight at -35 or colder. Usually takes a few miles to get them round again.

Just another reason that Fairbanks is aka Squarebanks.

They make these special parking blocks that prevent flat-spotting. Several of the Camaro guys have them because they park their cars for the winter...

^I may have to look into that if it ever looks like it will be parked for that long again. The fact that these are bias ply tires doesn't help any.
