I have been working thru many problems studying for the FE. I keep making stupid mistakes - just dropped the decimal point in an intermediate result - of course I get an impossible answer. Then I spend time looking for my error.......AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGFFFFFKKKK!!!

I feel pretty damn stupid :smileyballs: but I'm really concerned that the layout of the test means that you don't have to copy the problem given data over - is this true?

I know this question is about the exam, and I did read the Forum Rules - I don't think this question violates the rules. If you've taken the FE and think this question is in violation of your confidentiality agreement from the exam, please post your opinion on that.

:p10940623: << much easier than studying 30 yrs after graduation....

Damn! Senility has kicked in. :eek:ld-025: I thought I'd asked that question, but I couldn't find it in the post. Thanks Rudy. Can you sit next to me in the exam? :reading: <_<

If you want an accurate "preview" of the format of the NCEES FE exam, simply get a copy of the NCEES "FE Sample Questions and Solutions" book ($34.95 from NCEES, or $44.95 at "the other board"). The NCEES Sample Exams (unlike the Sample Exams published by "the other board") are published in exactly the same format as actual NCEES exam, so you will know what to expect. You will find that there are generally only 1 to 3 questions per page, with plenty of space in the margins to work in.

The NCEES Sample Exams are also your most accurate guide to the level of difficulty of the actual NCEES exams.

One of the greatest things about the study period is that it gives you tiem to practice avoiding simple errors like that. When I started studying for the PE, I was making countless minor errors in my math and even in using the calculator.

Don't worry, you'll get better with repetition.

Thanks for the tips. I'll get a copy of the NCEES sample questions. I did buy a desk lamp, hoping that will help..... I guess practice^3 is the thing to do.... got just 50 more days... hope that I remember the stuff I studied and worked problems in 2 months ago... my schedule is to get thru a first pass of all the material by the end of March, then review every topic until test time. I plan on taking a week off of work before the test.
