October 2023 Exam Pass Rates Out

Lowest pass rate ever for Vertical Buildings for first time takers (26%) since the exam began in 2011.

Thanks for letting us know. I took both SE bridge exams in October 2023 (first attempts; passed both) and was curious as to how hard it was relative to the other exams.



The pass rates for bridge exams don't surprise me. I had to guess an uncomfortably large number of the AM questions in the lateral exam. I didn't come out of either morning session feeling optimistic. I was waiting at a crosswalk with my fellow examinees after the morning vertical and told them that I wished NCEES would at least cuddle me after effing me so hard. I think the sentiment was shared. Fortunately, the afternoons for both days went really well and I assume that made up for my more-likely-than-not low morning scores.
