We did!  All devoted to a school that is no longer in our conference so now we sound extra lame.
I mean, I think SBU played it at graduation?  But I don't think I ever heard it played during a game or anything?  Idk, I feel like my state school was pretty chill.  It was a really heavy commuter school, so I think everyone was of the mind-set, "I just want to get this degree done, I don't care."

Cornell, on the other hand, had ultra school pride, and there I was-lurking in the basement of the engineering department, studying gravity-fed water treatment.

Okay.  Serious question guys:  I bought a space heater for my apartment because I tend to lounge on the couch/don't care if the rest of the apartment gets cold, but if my feet get cold I get ultra sad (socks kinda work, but my feet have been broken a couple of times, so they don't generate heat or something?).  I have vaulted ceilings around 12' tall and it's pretty open-concept from living room to dining room to recessed kitchen.  Bedroom and bathroom are only areas I can 'close off'/close the door.  I feel like the space heater isn't doing that great of a job, but I don't want to kick up the thermostat since it'd then be heating a huge amount of space that I'm technically not in.

Thinking maybe return the space heater and grab a heated blanket instead?  Thoughts on people who have done this before?
+1 for heated blanket. Heat is more localized and you can always, in a pinch, unplug it and keep it on you while you run to the kitchen for ice cream/gelato.

Everyone needs a hobby I guess. I personally don't like to look back too much. Nothing bad there, I get more stimulation from thinking about where I'm going.
I just don't have strong ties to my school and don't get it

You can always get a nicer, larger space heater but the cheaper way would be the heated blanket. My wife loves hers on the couch and she's always cold lol

This feels like something that should be in the Mechanical PE/HVAC forum....

have you tried insulated booties? They're like socks but a little bit bigger and not as tight.

There are people like that at the school I went to. I'm just like, get over it. It's college. It's the same to me as taking all that pride in high school and middle school.
I agree. middle school pride is extra weird to me

I'd also get warmer socks: Darn Tough for the win. Lifetime guarantee. Made in the USA  - made in VT in fact

I used to live in an apartment that was slab on concrete, and the furnace blew air from ceiling registers so my feet were always cold. I've used these ultra thick insulating socks, which help. I also have a pair of fuzzy moccasins (kinda like uggs) and they work better. My feet can get sweaty though.

Yeah, I got a kinda nice one from Costco and a little disappointed, tbh, since the air is very localized/only hits one area and it's really only my feet that get cold.

@LyceeFruit I actually got a bunch of wool socks from my knitter friend that I need to break in + fur-lined house booties, but I don't want to wear my booties on the couch?  Especially since the couch is part of my apartment's furnishings/aren't mine to potentially destroy.

I often see these at Marshall's. Often they are "imperfect" so there is no lifetime guarantee, but they are also about half price. Wool is a good material for warm socks!
