I have a rock. But that was from graduation, it's whitewashed and everything! (tradition at my alma mater)All I got was a rock.
missed the posts. i saw the ones in the power sub-forum calling that double problem "psychological warfare"Like, missed the to be fair, or like, missed those posts?
Do I LOOK LIKE AN ENGINEERING INTERN TO YOU???That's Mr. Chattaneer to you!
That sounds like a pretty nice rock. My undergrad/grad don't have traditions like that. I did buy myself a nice watch when I graduated undergrad. A little Seiko that's still ticking (even though I've bashed in the crystal multiple times horseback riding).I have a rock. But that was from graduation, it's whitewashed and everything! I was like, "Sweet. They messed up. I hope nobody reports this. I want this extra point."missed the posts. i saw the ones in the power sub-forum calling that double problem "psychological warfare"
my school gave us granite nameplates when i graduated. it was only the engineering department. and we were the only year they ever did it for. so my name, school name/emblem, and major were engraved into granite... like why?!I have a rock. And what's with states changing engineer-in-training to engineering intern? Like, why?Do I LOOK LIKE AN ENGINEERING INTERN TO YOU???
A lot of people reported it but to call it psychological warfare is a bit extra. jfcI was like, "Sweet. They messed up. I hope nobody reports this. I want this extra point."
It's actually a pretty cool tradition - when you start there, you walk up the mountain and drop off a 10lb rock from home (supposed to signify your journey while at the school, blah blah blah), then the incoming class whitewashes the new rocks to keep them nice and white and visible from the side of the mountain. Then when you graduate, you get to drive up there and pick a rock to take with you. That sounds like a pretty nice rock. My undergrad/grad don't have traditions like that. I also have a metal diploma. But that's tradition, too.my school gave us granite nameplates when i graduated. it was only the engineering department. and we were the only year they ever did it for. so my name, school name/emblem, and major were engraved into granite... like why?!
This caused me a minor issue, when someone was verifying my work experience for another job, hr called my old company as my old company reported my job title as engineering intern, and the new company was like, so you weren't full time you were an intern, and I was like listen here silly hr, EI is a license. THAT'S MR. INTERN TO YOU!And what's with states changing engineer-in-training to engineering intern? Like, why?
Agreed. Just chill out, y'all.A lot of people reported it but to call it psychological warfare is a bit extra. jfc
I also have a metal diploma. But that's tradition, too.
