NJ PE license renewal

Hello,

I got my NJ license on January 2017, and on April  2018 my first license renewal will be due. My question is: Do i need Continuing professional competency (C.P.C) credits for my first renewal or am I except since this is my first renewal? I am not sure if i understand what is writen on this website regarding this matter: http://njpublicsafety.com/ca/pels/competencyinfo.htm

If anyone has PE from NJ has similar experience for license renewal please let me know.

Did you get license via test or commity?

If you got NJ License via exam, no CPC credits are needed. If you got it by commity, you do need CPC credits.

Thanks a lot youngmotivatedengineer i got it via exam. So i guess i am exempt this time.

You are also allowed to carry over 12 credits to the next cycle.  So if you had some already you can apply it to next renewal cycle.
