Hi--I'm looking for advice on which civil afternoon test to consider. Here is my situation: My bachelor's degree is in civil engineering; I'm active duty Army (11 years), and have not touched anything related to real civil engineering my Army career. I took the civil PE in Missouri in 2005 but did not pass. I took the water resources depth for the afternoon. I haven't touched the material since. It has always been a goal of mine to pass the PE exam. Now is the time in my career when I can really focus on passing it. I'm planning on studying this fall, winter, and spring, and take the test in April '12. It will be a proxy test, as I now live in New York. Anyway, I am essentially starting from scratch on many of these topics. So, my big question is which afternoon version should I focus on? I "like" construction the best, but the only construction I've done is as a project manager for some simple projects about 9 years ago. I have heard that the transportation version is the best if one is learning something for the first time--that might be me. Any advice/help will be great!

Thank you.

You should take the sample exams and see which one you do the best in. With preparation, I'd bet WR/Env is the easiest to "learn" enough to pass the exam.
