Hi! I'm a 50 year old civil engineer, out of school for 25 years, struggling to prepare for PE Exam in April; taking the Construction Depth, having some difficulty pinning down the subject matter; taking Testmasters course this month.

well good luck. I hope Testmasters works for you, please post up your feelings/recommendations on it as you take the course.

Thanks for the luck, I may need it, not as quick or sharp as I used to be! Anyone reading this putting off the PE, don't wait like I did!! I finally was able to qualify under 20 years experience (in VA) instead of having to take the FE (which I didn't do when I had the chance after college). Don't wait!! Take these tests as soon as you can qualify!!

Testmasters is supposed to be well worth the $$, according to several of my co-workers who took it and took the exam. I've been prepping ahead of time so I can keep up in class. I will post feedback afterwards.

My biggest concern is the PM Depth in Construction. I haven't seen much information other than the NCEES topics and Ruwan's book (which seemed too simple). NCEES advises to have several references (NDS, CMWB, ASCE, ACI Guide to Formwork, etc.) that I haven't been able to find sample problems for. Any advise would be appreciated.

Welcome, BeBee. And good luck. I passed the PE in 2007. I was 49. I had passed EIT many years ago. I agree that putting it off makes the exam more challenging, but it is DO-ABLE!!!
