It's like being in Middle School all over againThe WebNets.
I have seen far too many episodes and specials involving Curious George due to my 4-year old.Nature Cat and Curious George!!
I would, I did the same thing with the TBN channels, but the problem with PBS is that the kiddie stuff is mixed in with stuff that I want to watch once in a while.I deprogrammed all the PBS kiddie non-shit so it doesn't show up when I am channel surfing
Ya, if you're talking about just straight disc-type movies that you presently own, there's really not a good way of mass-converting them all to digital other than possibly bribing one of your kids to do it for a small fee. LOL. I will say, if these are somewhat newer movies that include a "digital copy" (i.e. or UltraViolet, online copy, blah blah), then I would suggest trying the Vudu app. The last couple of years, we've been using that to claim the digital copy of the actual disk movies we've purchased. There's no conversion, no storage space required, it essentially "unlocks" the movie in your personal library. And it just streams to your smart device so long as you have a decent Wi-Fi connection.so is there an EASY way to put DVD's on a hard drive and link that to my TV?
In a perfect world what I would like to do is be able to scroll through the movies I already own (too many) and watch one without having to go first sit at my computer?
Id even be up for buying some type of DVD player that also has a hard drive that I could scan several movies and then play from there? (similar to how my kids Xbox works with games)?
When I research this it seems to involved loading the DVD to my PC, doing some file conversion jaba jaba.. snore....
??
I think Disney (and other production companies, like Paramount, etc.) is also allowing you to link their "online copies" to the Vudu app as well. And if I feel like being super lazy, you can outright purchase or even rent movies right from the app to add them you library (if only temporary). So far I'm a fan of it. Vudu app also works well on Android devices. :thumbs:The Vudu app also lets you convert disc to digital for $2-$5. $2 to go from DVD to SD or Blu Ray to HD and $5 to up-convert DVD to HD. I hardly ever put in a disc into my PS3 anymore and just use the Vudu app on my TV to watch my movies.
Vudu is a free service. If you already bought a disk and it included a "digital copy", there's no charge to use Vudu to view it.yeah but I don't want to pay for the service. I have a shit load of DVD's
I was almost thinking if they made some type of DVD player that would hold say 50 movies (like the old CD music days?)
I don't have cable but I don't want to miss out on non stop Tim Allen / Santa Clause over the next two months
That's a neat feature. I've not personally used anything like this. But I see a few stand-alone players that might actually do what your describing for DVDs.for example my Jeep has a hard drive built into the radio that I can insert either a DVD or CD and it will record it and I can play it back later and not have to insert the disc again (of course the movies take up way more space than the music) But its a pretty nifty feature that saved me from converting 100's of old CD's to audio files - Be nice if there was something similar for DVD's
I don't buy that many new movies on DVD but I just have a "yuge" collection..
