Lol, I am a bourbon girl, but I also have a project deadline today and I need to finish! The euphoria is not letting me concentrate!!!

My very first post on EB.com...

I passed, Mechanical TFS. Hoohoo...!!! Hopefully other people made it too. Since the passing rates for ME this time are fairly high overall (73% to 82%). I can now have a good sleep. Thanks for all the supports (and trollings) from EB.com.

I see a lot of WR and Construction depth PE takers. Did anyone take the Structural depth and pass? Have to retake it again and was wondering if they took a review course that prepped them well. Thanks!….and congrats to those that passed.

I took the structural depth but also didn't pass. I took the PPI course, but I would not necessarily just go ahead and say that wasn't why I failed.

I took the Structural depth last April and got destroyed. I was working in the field and not in the office for the last year so I switched to Construction depth... Needless to say that's one of the better decisions I've made.

Took the EET course on-demand to learn what I didn't know and used the binder of reference material to crush the national exam.

I took Mechanical HVAC and took the School of PE course. School of PE was not good for the depth potion, only the breadth. I read the reviews about the depth potion after I signed up, so it was too late. Even tho I took Mechanical, I still wanted to mention it because that was the general consensus among people in other disciplines as well. So I can't help you with which course to take, but I can tell you which one not to take.

Thanks! This was my 3rd time taking the national exam. I've been scoring in the low 50's so knowing that I'm just a few questions from passing is so frustrating. I'm thinking of switching disciplines.

I took the structural depth last year and passed first attempt.  I took a course offered by the ASCE Young Member Forum.  I'd say it was worth it, but do note that it was probably also better for the AM portion.  For the PM portion, I really think it's about doing as many practice problems and exams as you can.

Diego don't give up. IMHO, it's a test that is not reflective on whether someone should have their PE or not. But that is a whole different discussion. I wouldn't look at you as any lesser of an engineer than someone that passed. I passed without taking any prep courses. Maybe that helped, I don't know. I know PPI'S philosophy is for you to get 100% on the morning portion. So maybe the structural depth is less of a focus to them, I'm not sure. When time permits I'll message you with how I prepared. If I can do it, you most certainly can.

I failed it in April and just passed it in October. My first time I didn't prepare enough with the code books, AISC, ACI 318-530 and ASCE. I got the PPI structural depth practice problems which do a great job of familiarizing yourself with said references. That made all the difference. I walked out very confident that I passed because I had all the references and was very familiar with them.

I seem to remember someone saying we didn't have to submit that form this time around? Can someone re-confirm this?
So... back to this. Reviewing the "Next Steps" on the NCEES Dashboard I'd say don't send the form until the board tells you to or someone on here confirms with Patty or other staff member at the board that it needs to be submitted.

I'd guess that starting in the spring that form will be required since the board won't even know that you've taken the test because the application for licensure goes to the board after the NCEES exam is passed.

Yup, I reread the application changes PDF on the board website and deduced the same thing. Basically, the board is removing the requirements to take the exam. They are keeping the requirements to get a license. So, similar to a few other states, you can now take the PE exam right after college (or whenever you're ready), then once you've fulfilled the requirements you can apply to get licensed. That's what that form is for. It's for people in the future to let the board know that they've taken and passed the exam, and that they are applying for licensure. It does not apply to us at this moment.

Do our numbers come tomorrow?

I'm not updating anything with PE until I can see a number on the website.
Yes. I believe if you are not waiting for state exams your number should be up tonight. I am trying to confirm if people that are waiting on state exams if they do not get final email today if they will have numbers up tomorrow?

Someone before said that their website updates around 5am. So yes, tomorrow when you wake up, check the license lookup. You should see your name there.

I am off to a meeting in Irvine.. an hour drive... so I will try to arrive early and fill you in to anything I hear before meeting.
