[SIZE=11pt]As a Senior or Principal Engineer – Power Engineering, you will be supporting our ongoing Submarine programmes throughout the design phases of the engineering lifecycle, ensuring that we deliver an effective Royal Navy capability and a platform that ensures the safety of its crew.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Your main responsibilities as a Senior or Principal Engineer – Power Engineering will involve: [/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Undertaking functional design and providing specialist advice in any of the following areas:[/SIZE]

  • [SIZE=11pt]LV distribution including but not limited to 115V, 24V, 230v Distribution across primary, secondary and emergency systems[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=11pt]HV and switchboards including but not limited to 440V, Main Battery, Switchboards and Load Centres[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=11pt]Propulsion (Power) including Turbo and Diesel Generators, Variable Speed Drives and Synchronising[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=11pt]Power Systems Analysis including Power Systems Modelling, Data Analysis [/SIZE]
[SIZE=11pt]Liaising with internal and external customers as part of a technical team[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Undertaking peer reviews[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Articulating and presenting technical arguments, clearly, logically and simply[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Executing, evaluating, delivering and managing complex engineering and/or cross functional tasks/ programmes of work recognising stakeholder and customer requirements[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Identifying and implementing opportunities for personal and team development to ensure that professional capability of the business and individual are maintained and improved[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Your skills and qualifications as a Senior or Principal Engineer – Power Engineering:[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Essential:[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) [/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Demonstrable experience of engineering system design in any of the technical specialities listed below:[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Electrical generators[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]High voltage switchgear[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Power system protection[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Power electronics[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Desirable:[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Experience in Power system modelling and analysis using Matlab and Simulink[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Chartered Engineer status or willingness to achieve[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Background in Marine/Maritime engineering[/SIZE]
