Not discussing the problem. Just sharing what is written in invisible ink. Put a glow light over your computer screen, hit F12 and you'll see what I'm talking about.Shhh, no discussions.

So far, we have had a good turnout of answers. Thanks for participating everyone. Answer will be revealed at/around 3pm Pacific Time today. That leaves 2 hours for anyone else who wants to take a stab at this problem.![]()
Very true. One 'overthinking' way to look at this problem is to say there are 5 variables/unknowns and 3 equations and thus unsolvable. However, in looking at just the first three equations alone, there are three variables and three equations so you can at least solve for horse, double horseshoe, and double boots. Right? Then, when you look at the 4th equation, the logical assumption would be to call a single boot half of a double boot, and a single horseshoe half of a double horseshoe.Technically, the variables for the single boot and single horse shoe were not defined. One has to assume they are half the vale of the other variables.
Hasn't that always been your motto.... if at first you don't succeed, try, try again?I got 21 the third time I solved it.
Hey, he passed the PE the first try, IIRC. <_<Hasn't that always been your motto.... if at first you don't succeed, try, try again?![]()
I don't think you are RC'ing.Hey, he passed the PE the first try, IIRC. <_<

I didn't notice either. Good catch. You know what I didn't pick up was that there was a double boot and a single boot I think that's why most of us came up with 42
