    How's everyone been?

I know I'm a bad board member, but I got a call from a friend recently telling me about how this board was helping them in their P.E. persuits and realized I needed to start checking in here again. So props to you guys for keeping up the good work, and good luck to everyone on the 29th!!

    New Job

This morning I accepted a new job as an Apparatus Engineer. There's some international travel for witness testing which I'm looking forward to, and I'm in general pretty pumped about the opportunity. Plus..... I still have a job in this economy. :party-smiley-048:

    ANSI Delta/Wye Spec

I seem to remember in college that the delta is supposed to lead the wye by 30deg to meet an ANSI spec. Does anyone know that specification number and where it is? Can't seem to find it. Thanks

To the consultant owners / small business people here....

What skills (outside of your engineering skills) would you say have been instrumental in your success? What do you wish you knew more about? i.e. better finance/accounting, more advertising, etc. The reason I ask is I'm getting ready for an MBA, and I'd like your input.

    McDonalds

So bought a drive-thru meal tonight, working on finals, busy at work, I know I shouldn't eat there anyways blah blah blah. I get home, and this is what I have: Note: This picture wasn't taken after I had some. This is how it came. Minus one bite. Grossest part is I ate some fries on the...

    Editing

For some reason I can post in suggestion box / welcome area (afraid I'll scare people off by calling them names/douchebags?) so I put this here: I can't edit my posts after a period of time it seems, it might be me, or there might be some good reason for this, but it would be nifty to be able...

    Electrical References for Sale

Electrical references Power mostly, Camara's stuff works for the other Electrical ones though. Selling some of the books I don't need/want. These have good mojo on them from a recent pass, so they should be worth a lot right? ;) All sales probably won't be shipped until after the holidays...

    VT/CCVT questions

I'm studying VT/CCVTs... and I have a few questions? When you design a CCVT, what design changes make the biggest impact on performance? Size of the caps (in Farads, not physical size)? What changes can be made to improve their performance? What do you lose/gain by making these changes? And...

    Power 524

Somebody (Flyer???) want to tell me where that equation came from / what it is? I mean is it as simple as "oh I assume that losses square" (hence the factor of 4?) or what? Thanks

    Question 112

Answer is (D), Positive sequence and negative sequence currents cannot pass through the neutral grounding resistor in a wye-connected generator. Why is that? I thought a grounded wye allowed all sequences to pass?

Just got my butt kicked by the NCEES sample questions...

Today I'm taking the sample questions like an exam... I've been studying for a few weeks, but apparently not enough! I flew through the morning portion, and instead of going back and checking my work like I would in the real exam, I just graded my problems. Took me 2hr 20min to take the first...

    Lighting reference

Does anyone have the new Electrical Reference by PPI that they'd be willing to share the lighting portion out of? Or any condensed lighting reference at all? I'm using an old one, and I don't have anything... except for the IESNA lighting handbook, and that thing is massive / hard to use. I...
