Stephen Colbert to replace David Letterman on "Late Show"

CBS didn't waste too much time finding a new host for the "Late Show." Exactly a week after David Letterman announced his plans to retire, his replacement has been named.

Stephen Colbert, the host, writer and executive producer of "The Colbert Report," will succeed Letterman.

I have never really watch Colbert on CC. I don't know much about him.

He's funny and witty. I can only imagine most of his show is a character, but he comes across as the R side against the D Jon Stewart.

That's pretty cool. S. Colbert is pretty d@mn funny IMO. LadyFox watched some of his show on Hulu and it was funny. But as most have pointed out, I'm usually up that late doing homework, not watching TV. :bag:

It will be interesting to see if he tones it down for late night. His show is very much "in character", and while I think he's funny, it can be pretty polarizing.

Colbert is just as liberal, if not more, than Jon Stewart. His Colbert Report character is just an act.
