assume no water table present.

When calculating bearing capacity, should I use wet unit weight or dry unit weight of soil? thanks.

If my memory serves me right, you would use the wet unit weight, or the dry unit weight multiplied by 1 plus whatever the % moisture is.

But it has been a long time since I've seen on of those problems.
