I've been looking at the smoke detectors that sync together. So if one goes sounds an alarm, they all will.

 
that would be helpful if the there was a problem in the basement, it would make the upstairs alarm sound too.

 
The thought of not having to change batteries is nice though.

 
I'm disappointed with the Kiddie alarms. They were not cheap and I have had 2 fail in the last 7 years. Maybe they've reached their end of life. I guess I should check to see how long the should last.

 
just kidding. I'll be the one who had to stay up late with her after she has nightmares.
