+1! Agreed. CBC and IBC contain the same info when it comes to the seismic principles exam.
CBC contains some slightly "alternate" sections labeled for example 16XXXA instead of simply 16XXX. These alternate sections are adopted by certain AHJs such as DSA and OSHPD. Since you can't practice structural engineering under these AHJs unless you have the SE title, you are not expected to know them for the PE exams.
