Reverse air bags

What makes them "reverse"? It sounds like the same principle, just built into the seatbelt in the back since there is no rear dashboard to mount them to.

reverse in that conventional airbags deploy towards you, where as this deploys away from you. another article i read also stated that they can deploy slower and therefore safer as well.
