Hi everyone. If you're getting ready for the survey test, I highly recommend Reza Mahallati. His book was the only source I had for the test, studied less than 2 months and passed on my first try. I have the book for sale. It's the most updated version (spring 2021), tabbed and highlighted (tabs are removable). I have added some notes and questions from other sources. Selling for $80 + Shipping.
DM me if you are interested.

Who else is itching for June results? Gosh I hope today is the day

Definitely getting antsy for my surveying results. Was on vacation over the weekend but now my inbox is right in front of me all day...

My money is on results being released tomorrow (based on nothing in particular)

I was thinking (and hoping) tomorrow too but next Monday seems more realistic due to the July 4th holiday, which probably also have them July 5th off. Board gonna do what Board gonna do…

Hi everyone,

great feedback and responses. I passed Seismic and am going to take surveying in Q4. I have very little to no surveying background. I signed up for Reza’s workshop with the 4 - live lectures. Are his lectures and book enough or was it implied in one of the earlier comments to supplement with a more conceptual course such as EET? I understand that everyone learns differently, but I am OK with covering everything under the sun and like AEI’s Seismic class.

Did anyone used the mass and haul diagrams for the exams this past couple of months?

I was in the same situation. I passed on second. I bought reza and cpesr. If i had to buy one, i’d say reza. Find many more practice exams and do them timed.

i will say the cost to retest is nearing the cost of a 2nd course, so you may consider doubling up and ensure you pass on the first. I only had CPESR on the 1st

How do you feel about geometry and trigonometry, and math in general? I joke that the surveying test could be renamed the "circle and triangle test," but I'm not really joking. If you consider yourself good at those subjects, I think Reza should be fine.
I only studied Reza
workbook and videos, passed first time. I also got an old edition of one of the recommended general surveying references for $5 online and brought that, did end up looking up a few things in it since I had extra time.

Oh, I also practiced using some Mansour exams, they are easier than Reza and maybe easier than the test as well.

Of course it is better to be safe than sorry since you have to pay a re-exam fee + spend more time studying if you fail. Maybe see how you do with Reza's material and go from there.

I'm not sure. I've been out of touch with that stuff for a longggg time. I took the PE 15 years ago and am looking to relocate to CA from the East Coast. I'm hoping its like riding a bike and you never forget.

Congratulations on passing. I guess its never too early to study, plan on taking surveying in Q4.
