Professional Societies

Is anyone a member of any professional societies? I am a PE in NYS and I am looking to join some. I was looking into NSPE and IEEE. Are either of these worth it? Do you recommend any other groups?

"Worth it" is probably subjective depending on what you are hoping to get out of it. I am a member of my local Structural Engineers Association. The dues are paid for by my employer, and the membership provides an annual seminar for me to get most of my required continuing education credits. So for me, it is definitely worth it.
