Hi All,

After 20 years out of school, I now have a need to obtain EIT & eventually PE with EE discipline. It's going to be tough for me as I've forgotten A LOT already. Based on the advices found here (and thanks for all the wonderful advices), I've started gathering material to study. I have purchased an e-book from EITFASTTRACK.COM and FE-Electrical Review Manual from Kaplan to study. By the way, does anyone have any problem with EITFASTTRACK order? I am supposed to get the ebook from them within 24 hours, but it's been 4 days now without anything from them. All contacts via emails (no phone available) have been unanswered by EITFASTTRACK. Anyway, I'm so glad to have found this board.

Welcome Dennis. Good luck with your studies.

that was my timeline for the PE exam, but I had the EIT already. It took a while to tune up the brain, then it was easy.

btw, some states will let you use experience plus an ABET degree. might save you some brain damage.

You can do it, dennis! I got my PE without finishing my engineering degree and almost 30 years after I left college. And, there are a few around here older than you, I believe. :)

Dennis,

You can do it. I completed mine 22 years after graduation (ME -HVAC). Like you I had to get the EIT then sit for the PE. It was tough mainly because I'd been out of school so long but after getting back in the groove I made it.

You can do it!

It can be done, just be prepared to spend lots of money on classes and study books. I was out of school around 10 years and I probably spent 3K.

I was out 17 years when I got mine. My employer actually financed a couple of the classes I took. I started studying a little over six months before the exam.

Thank you all very much for your words of encouragement! I truly appreciate your supports. I am now motivated with the can-do attitude. I have been studying for about 3 weeks now and things have started to come back to me. It is amazing what I learned over 20 years ago are still somewhere in the brain :). I will just have to bring them out of the dormant stage. Again, thanks all so much. I am glad to be a part of this forum
