I was trying to convince my husband to buy a summer home in Maine but he’s not interested.

I went to a great lobster place in Two Lights right on the coast. The people were really nice in Maine and in Vermont.
Property in greater Portland is ridiculous, way north Maine it's much better but theres like no services

Wait, you're Italian AND French? Or, your ancestry is French but you happened to be born in Italy? Whose team are you on??? :rotflmao:

You haz EU passport?
I'm a dual Italian/US citizen with a US passport.  My mom is Italian and my dad is French/moved here to the states when he was a kid.  Definitely team Italy, I was raised with that culture and while I love the French language, food, etc, I don't really feel a connection to it like I do with my Italian roots :)   Probably because my French grandma was so grumpy :D

how to do accents on my computer
For Spanish (I'm teaching myself, no time for a real class), hold down ALT and for the numbers (on the number pad, not the top row) type in:

160 for á

130 for é

161 for í

162 for ó

163 for ú

164 for ñ

173 for ¡

168 for ¿

When you release the ALT key, the character you want will appear! Et voilà!

Okay.  So I'm thinking either Spanish or French.  Which do you think would be best to attempt first?
SPANISH! I'm learning Spanish now. I got the real Pearson textbook from the community college, but I'm just following the lessons and exercises on my own.

Edit: Ooh! Surprise ToP! :bananalama:

Okay.  Spanish first.  This will be interesting because in high school I learned Latin and Ancient Greek, which haven't helped me at all.

I'm going to email the school and see what they have.  I know semester has started, but it seems like they have online classes, which would prob work best for me.

Also, I def want to learn French.  The university near me offers online classes, and I want to ask them if I can take it without being a student/matriculating, since I don't want another degree?
Community colleges are usually pretty easy going about people just taking "continuous learning" classes for personal growth. You can audit them to avoid any GPA and transcript issues.

As a Californian, I honestly have no need for French and I only studied it to meet girls (just keepin' in real, although that is where I met LadySquare and it's been 13 years together). I super want to learn Spanish fasho.
My grandmother wanted me to learn French (because northern New England, I assume) and as a 5th grader, I was a contrarian and wanted to learn Spanish instead. Surprise! The tutor was Spanish not French LOL. And then took French in middle school since I had to pick a language and my options where French, Spanish, or Latin.

Spanish is wicked helpful to know but you can *kinda* get the gist of whats being said if you know French
