When I passed I did not get 5.  Number 3 was talked about, but then never really came to fruition (they have bonuses/raises calc'd out earlier in the year for following March).

I say go.  Might as well try something new!

In my company, it's #6: if you pass, you will have the ability to get promoted to senior engineer when they feel you qualify for it

This I know.  But it usually leads to confusing topics in the family thread.  Like last night she was talking about "Follow that Bird" and the "Turkey Time" instructional VHS that did not burn in the 4-H chicken barn fire!

Then she started asking me to figure out how to do small-scale water distillation for the horrible Indiana water so my humidifier will be more efficient.
