hi everybody,

i am looking for anyone taking the FE EXAM in oct. i would like to discuss similar concerns we might have.

Good luck, y'all. Study hard. Make this a commitment. Believe in yourself.
Thanks Mary

my biggest problem is i HATE taking exams . . . . never was good at it.

it seems i am cursed by the 'freak out" factor

you've taken it once, consider the freakout factor to be banished - I'm taking it this Oct., first timer but have taken the FS in April, so feel the freakout factor for me has been dispelled cuz i've already been thru one of those marathon exams

Im not afraid of exams, it will be my 5th time this Oct 2008, what pisses me off is I almost memorize all problems in NCEES EIT Civil PM and "the other board" FE Civil Discipline and too was confident in the PM and in the morning I have a hard time on subjs like Chem., thermo, Elect etc., Math was ok Mechanics and Fluids other than that I need more studying...I was short of time last FE Exam I have to guess about 15 to 20 at the last part of the AM FE mostly on Elect and Thermo.

I am thinking of taking it too.

anyone in houston ? to team up and study ?

[resp to Steel Man] hit those topics (the ones troubling you the most) hard in the FERM. Sounds like you're just on the edge of making it - this will be the time, yes?! Good luck

i just took one in april and passed. my advice, try to nail as many as possible for the morning. afternoon has less problems but it will require you to think more too. another thing is, if you're stuck and have time, try to flip the reference book and you may find exactly the solution to the problem. if not, make an educated guess. can't hurt.

good luck!

I'll be taking the Oct exams too. I am using the Engineering-in-Training Reference Manual. I am actually confused whether I should use this or the FERM.
