I have a version of the NCEES sample exam which uses the 2008 NEC. The solution says the answer is in section 250.56. However, 250.56 has been removed from the 2011 code book.

The question asks for the maximum resistance to ground of a single grounding electrode without having to add another ground electrode. Is the answer found elsewhere in the most recent code? Or is the question now invalid?

Thanks.

I wasn't able to find the answer in the 2011 code either and I looked every where. I would think the question is now invalid, since it isn't addressed in the new NEC version.

The nearest indication I found was on Page 70-112 250.53 (2) exception to supplement electrode required

I also found my answer at 250.53. I looked up "single grounding electrode" in the index to find it. I noticed the PE really loves exceptions. So look for italic text (esp in the handbook)
