This year will be 40 for me and i hate to say it but I'm starting to feel a bit decrepit.   Aches and pains and problems are starting to be more frequent than I would like.  Still better than the alternative though.

Meh. It's all an average. Your mileage may vary. 

For me, 47 wasn't that bad. 52  is kind of sucking so far, but for me it's all based on external stuff - job situation, kids, spouse, health. The condition of each of those isn't necessarily tied to age. The internal stuff they talk about - pressure relief from expectations etc. - I guess I can maybe see, but again it's all based on your individual circumstances.

Along with good health I’ve been blessed by looking much younger than I am. Had one of our clerks flirting with me. The look on her face was priceless when I mentioned that I graduated high school with her dad.
