Does anyone here have a used copy of this AASHTO reference for sale? I need it for the April PE exam. I am wondering if I could get away without buying this manual, but am kinda scared that a question or two may show up that I need to pass this test. I am already broke buying all the other Transportation references. Can you shed some light on if you have experience using this manual too. Is it well organized or not? C'mon NCEES, this is a tough economy already to be calling for all these references for just one test.

But want to pass the test so never mind.

67, in my opinion, the main Transpo books to have (in this order) are the AASHTO GDHS, the FHWA HCM and the FHA MUTCD. Then maybe the AASHTO RDG (and the FHWA HDHC since it free). I passed without any of the pavement books and I think the CERM does a decent job at covering asphalt/concrete basics. If money is tight, in my opinion, you can skip the pavement books. Good luck.

P.S. I forget which one (I think maybe the AASHTO GDPS?) but I was able to find one of the pavement books at my local library. But, again, I didn't use it/need it to pass.
