My client, a leading national engineering consulting firm is looking for Engineering professionals for their Philadelphia, PA location.

Electrical Engineer – Philadelphia, PA

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will concentrate on power distribution, electrical studies, lighting design, telecommunications, fire detection, and security systems. Also, this position will take an active role in design by preparing design layout, calculations, specifications, code review, and cost estimating.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Utilizes and assists less experienced staff in understanding company technical policies and procedures during the execution of projects for clients.

• Assists in the execution of design processes on assigned projects and requests assistance from senior technical staff when needed.

• Assists in the on the job technical training for less experienced design staff.

• Assists the design team in the coordination of project designs with other disciplines.

• Assists in the execution of specific engineering studies and design analyses.

• Assists in the review of shop drawings, records change.

• Assists in performing on site inspections during construction and coordinates design requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers under the direction of the senior technical staff.

• Actively participates in professional organizations where the technical reputation and image of the firm may be enhanced.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:

• A registered professional engineer

• M. S. degree in Engineering and five years or more applicable experience in discipline design and analysis or a B. S. degree in Electrical Engineering and six years or more applicable experience

• A demonstrated ability to actively participate in the design and analysis required on substantial projects.

• AutoCAD experience a plus.

Senior Traction Power Engineer - Philadelphia, PA

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide the technical expertise to lead the efficient designs and technical studies of both AC and DC traction power substations and systems. Project manager and/or technical lead for assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Plan, organize, manage and control the design and technical studies of the traction power engineering group, including:

o Select personnel for technical and project management leads for specific projects.

o Review effectiveness of staff on project specific basis and implement changes as required.

o Evaluate and mentor subordinates to include yearly career development and performance appraisals as well as technical workshops.

o Prepare technical papers for trade shows and journals as appropriate.

• Plan, organize, manage and control overall execution of a number of assigned projects in accordance with agreed objectives in terms of costs, time, quality, and customer relations.

o Prepare scope, schedule and budgets for project proposals.

o Develop project quality manuals.

o Complete monthly cost and project reports. Take appropriate action to achieve project objectives.

o Notify clients of change of scope. Estimate and negotiate change orders.

o Prepare reports, bid documents and construction cost estimates where assigned as technical lead.

o Inspect the quality of work performed by subordinates.

o Liaise and coordinate work with owners such that the company is always regarded as effective and competent.

o Prepare final project assessments at project conclusion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:

• BSEE with a minimum of 12 years experience in the design and construction of traction power substations. 3 years minimum in a supervisory capacity. Should be considered a technical expert in traction power substation design.

• Licensure as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain P.E. License within one year from date of hire.

Senior Catenary Engineer – Philadelphia, PA

JOB SUMMARY:
