License in Michigan

I have just sent in all the paper work for work experience verification and my payment. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to get back to you? Is there anyway to check progress with them? Did anyone run into any trouble with Michigan that will disclose here or email to me so I can think about avoiding it? Thanks I am excited to get this...

The application says to allow 6 weeks. I sent mine in on the 7th and they cashed my check on the 11th. I haven't heard anything yet. Tawlk said he sent his in the week before Christmas, they cashed his check on the 31st and just issued his license on the 18th, so it might come faster. I have a friend who sent his in the week after Christmas and hasn't heard anything back yet either. The only thing I've been doing is to keep searching for my name in the database and checking if it shows up or not. It seems like the last one they issued was 6201055090 on the 18th.

There's quite a bit of info about the application process in the April 2007 Michigan Results thread under the Exam Results forum.

To answer your specific questions, the FAQ on the board's website says it takes 6-8 weeks to process a new application. For those of us on EB who passed April 2007 it took between 6 weeks and almost 4 months. I have no idea why the disparity. The only way I know of to check the status of your application is to call the board's office. They will, however, contact you by mail if there is anything wrong with your app.

Yeah, that is where my April "class" did our communicating.

My application was in the mail the day I got my results. Then I was licensed on 08/02/2007.
