Hoping for the best - PE salary range information?

Just took the PE on Friday, hoping for the best. Where would be best to investigate salary ranges for new PEs? (Civil) I find that sites like Salary.com carry a wild range. Any advice is appreciated!

I will have missed salary adjustment time when I get my PE (assuming a positive result in December) My increase potential is not great though, even with it.    We do get a bonus or something.

Have you checked glassdoor.com? I think you may have to set up an account (it's free), but I've gotten some good input from there. You can also put in your anonymous salary info to help others in the future.

They do not, however, encompass all the fields of civil engineering and some have more participants than others. Bear in mind that salaries are also, in my opinion, highly dependent on location.

Still seems like a wide range. Does like ASCE have any resources?

I believe ASCE publishes a yearly salary survey, but you might have to be a member to get it or otherwise have to pay for it.

I am a member and used the tool to compare my salary to other civil engineers. But after you run the search tool twice you have to pay extra. Or you can pay $400 for the bundle. This will work for you since you're civil, but it's not for all engineers.
