Does anyone know the restrictions with taking the FE - General Vs the FE (specifc area)? If I take the FE General would that put some restrictions when I take the PE in my area (mechanical design).

I ask because the FE general seems alot esier to study as apposed to the FE mechancal.

thanks :juggle:

nope...the FE is the FE. You do know the FE is going computer based in 2014? The tests are being restructured to be more topic specific...no more am general pm area specific.

Does that mean that there will not be a General FE just computer based topic specific FE?

It really depends when you are out of school. If you have been out of school ages ago, it's really do not matter which route you go. I think IMHO, general is easier since you are studying almost the same subject for AM and PM except maybe chemistry/biology ......before they changed it in 2014
