Does NCEES allow the use/access of excel on the PE CBT Civil exams?

As far as I know, the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) does not allow the use of Microsoft Excel on their PE Civil Computer-Based Test (CBT) exams. Let's see if anyone else says otherwise.

Some exam centers provide their own calculators and do not allow you to bring your own even though NCEES allows certain models.

Page 7 of the NCEES Examinee Guide states, "You are allowed to bring one NCEES-approved calculator into the testing room." It is safe to assume they mean a calculator the examinee possesses, including taking it to the test facility and removing it from the test facility. Exam centers that do not allow this would be violating the NCEES exam policy. They do provide a Texas Instruments TI-30XS MultiView Scientific Calculator emulator on the computer as a backup, but its exclusive use is not mandatory. Any test center that violates the NCEES policy should be reported to the NCEES.

I didn’t know that. One of the main reasons I ran out of time and failed in my last attempt was to deal with an elementary school level calculator provided by the center and not allowing me to use my own NCEES approved calculator. I tried to explain the center manger but he refused to allow me to take the test if I didn’t comply with their center rules!
