Love it everytime KY goes down, at least while they keep that low life they have as a coach.
I don't care who their coach is...I just like seeing them lose.
NC is one of the few teams I like to see Kentucky beat. Of course hearing all the bitching and crying from UK fans is a nice consolation.

Louisville played Kentucky in women's basketball yesterday and this stat got posted up:

The crowd of 22,152 that was on-hand was the nation's 6th largest college basketball crowd this season, men's or women's. Eight of the ten most attended games have featured Louisville or Kentucky.
College Basketball is King in Kentucky

Suck it North Carolina

This probably is irrelevant for many people but it is not for me, and should not be irrelevant for Louisville fans.

Rick Pitino accepted tobe to coach for the Puerto Rican Basketball team for this Olympic cycle. I am not sure how he is going to do it while he coaches Louisville at the same time but he also says he is doing it for the challenge. Huh?

:dunno: Here is the link and before somebody says something about Puerto Rican basketball let me mention three names: Phil Jackson, Del Harris, PJ Carlessimo. Those three are the ones I remember now and they coached in the basketball league when I was a kid. Harris was the coach of my hometown team and with him we won 5 years in a row, which is still a record in Puerto Rico.

The commitment is only for coaching the team in the 2012 Olympic Trials tournament. So he will only have to be down there for a few practices, and a few games over the summer. He also worked out a deal for the Louisville team to play a couple of games against national teams as exhibition games instead of playing Our Little Sisters of Perpetual Responsibility. If that happens, Louisville will be better prepared to begin the season next year.

UConn women up to 89 in a row. I watched part of the game last night. It was a true testament not to how good they are, but as to how awful womens basketball is in general. A bunch of flailing around, wide open layups that don't even hit the backboard, and traveling every 5 seconds. It was like watching a game from the Sterling House league I played in when I was 10.

That streak is a testament to how many schools do not care about women’s basketball enough to try and field a great team.

Most college ADs seem to think either:

A ) "Our team sucks but that is OK because it is women's basketball."

or

B ) "Our team is decent which is good enough for women's basketball."

The fact of the matter is that athletic departments have limited resources. Few are willing to give resources to women's basketball when it could go to football, basketball or baseball / hockey. Those are sports that routinely turn profits so it makes more sense to invest in those.
