I have the CERM 11th edition. I know that they're up to 13 now but was wondering if it'd really be necessary to get the newest edition and pass the AM & PM Const Depth portion. What do you guys think?

I would normally say you'd be totally fine with yout 11th (if you don't want to buy a new edition). But the current upgrade trade-in offer of $75 is a pretty good deal. If you can swing the $75, you might consider it. If not, you'll still pass.

If you're doing Construction Depth the 11th Edition is fine. You'll still need to supplement the CERM text, no matter what version, with others such as OSHA, MUTCD, etc.,

All the best.

I prefer to get the latest and greatest, becuase I would hate even 1 question to be wrong due to outdated material... but as others noted construction sections will not likely change much in the CERM. There will mostly be format and orgainization changes, along with changes to structural, and as always errata...

The only difference is reference ACI 318-05 is replaced with ACI 318-08. So that will change the structural reinforced chapters some. When I studied with CERM 12th edition (also based on ACI 318-05) this past winter I did compare the material in the reinforced structural chapters that referenced 318-05 vs. 318-08 and found maybe one or two insignificant differences. I assure you for the Construction Depth you will not be handicapped with the 11th Edition one bit. Bottom line - if you have CERM 11th Edition run with it. Then get ACI 318-08. It's a given NCEES reference for Construction Depth and I used it on the exam last month.
