Cool pics, Dleg. Got any of the Tony engine. That was a pretty rare bird. I think the engine was a license built DB601. Is it an inverted V12?

^I'm sure it's still there. I haven't been to that spot in a while, though. I really don't know what the engine is, I just figure it's a Tony because I can't place any other non-radial engined fighter planes in the Battle of Saipan. It's got to be a Tony, but maybe I'm missing something.

WOW, that tank pic in the water is as cool as anything, great pic.
Isn't it? (I stole it off the internets). There are three of those Sherman tanks remaining out in the lagoon. They're really fun to kayak to and snorkel around. From a metallurgy point of view, and maybe Supe can comment on this, what I find most interesting are the weld beads on the armor plate joints - they are still bright, shiny and clean. Everything else is severely corroded, of course.
