You mean like the Yucatan? I went to Merida years ago; amazingly cheap and beautiful.

maybe, probably actually, but the beaches are similar, the resorts are similar, Riviera Maya is mostly all inclusive resorts...You should definitely see hawaii and Kauai for sure, but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon...

yes syc, Riviera Maya is just south of Cancun, not quite as touristy, beautiful resorts

Riviera maya is the resorts kinda near Playa del carmen...it's on the other side of the yacatan from merida

Yeah, my sister and I went and stayed in Merida. It's a colonial city. We wanted to avoid anything resort-y and were both poor college students.
