1999 was the last year I worked for somebody else; I started my biz in 2000. So, for me, taxes are much more expensive than they were.

Home theater electronics cost about the same and are significantly more advanced.

Yeah, manufacturers can't let the prices go down on TVs and such. They just continually add more BS and keep charging the same amount.

Then it's just a matter of convincing us that we couldn't possibly do without a TV that shows six channels at once while adjusting the air conditioning and monitoring our email.

There was a big snowstorm in the SC midlands in February '73 and my MIL saved the paper with coverage of the storm. it is fun to look at the ads. 19" console TVs were over 500 bucks. that was a TON of money in '73.

Shoot, I'm looking at getting my wife a 19" LCD for the kitchen and its just about $225. Amazing.

for guys maybe. Seems like the price keeps going up for women...but then again i only get my hair cut 2-3 times a year.

Yea, I've been shaving my head now for almost 10 years. I figured since I was going bald anyway, I might as well get used to it.
