Hi,

As going through the new sample exam I have found several errors

Question 109: Two way shear of footing. Uses Phi = 0.85. Shouldn't Phi = 0.75 for shear?

Question 117: Height of wall is not given.

Question 125: Length of beam not given.

Question 530: Shrinkage equation in the answer is given for Non moisture controlled unit. Question indicates moisture controlled unit.

Should we expect errors like this on the exam?

Let me know if you find more! What are your thoughts about the above?

Thanks, knelli

Oh yeah - part of being an engineer is making sound assumptions. If the sample exam is rattling you then maybe you're just not ready.

Just kidding. Check their website for erratta. http://www.ncees.org/exams/study_materials...truc_errata.pdf

they have question 109 on there - for the others if it was that obvious they should have addressed it by now.

On the exam I think you can expect all the necessary info to be provided. In theory, if they screw up a question bad enough then they will remove it for scoring purposes.
