hi everyone, i am working on the sample exam and have the following question:

Q 522: from the solution:

from the table: the Commercial value was entered as 12 NOT 2 as given TYPO IF NOT WHY???

the existing total area is 50, but should the total proposed area equals to 10+10+18+2 = 40

ths. & appreciate your input

What Sample Exam are you referring to? The NCEES 2011 Transportation Sample Questions and Solutions has none of the values you listed above.

I concur with JMT. #522 in the 2011 NCEES Transpo Sample Q&As is an engineering economics type question.

Ahh, ace means #533.

ace, the solution shown is correct.

The existing area is made up of 20AC Forest + 10AC Meadow + 18AC Residential + 2AC Commercial = 50 AC total

In the proposed condition, a 10AC Commercial site is being developed within the Forest portion. So, in the proposed condition, you'll have:

(20-10)AC Forest + 10AC Meadow + 18AC Residential + (2+10)AC Commercial = 50 AC total

Salute to ptatohead, sorry about the question # mixed up...

Sort of understood the solution, but have clarity issue with the problem statement!
