5000A MV Metal-Clad Switchgear?

Does anyone know if anyone makes 5000A rated metalclad switchgear, 13.8kv ? In my searches I've only come across 4000A.

Wow, 5000 A at 13.8 kV is 120 MVA. That's a LOT of load!

indeed it is.... I'm even having a hard time finding 4000A, in arc resistant metal clad swgr.

I would suggest that you contact Powell or Circuit Breaker Sales. Both of these companies deal in custom applications. But it aint cheap.

the stuff you are spec'ing is utility grade, not commercial/industrial...

imho if you can't find it, there is a reason: cost, practicality, code, etc.

maybe splitting it into 2 std 3000A sections is an option: better lead time, more flexibility, lower cost, easier aquisition, expansion, maintenance...

maybe recheck your load calcs: duty factor, etc.

It seems like you should be able to get an option to beef up the gear to give it a 5000 amp rating. Seems like I've seen this done with Cutler Hammer. I would try calling whoever reps Cutler Hammer or GE in your area to see if it can be done.
