    Volunteer PE work

Most Rails 2 Trails are DOT sponsored, at least in Pa. I know one being constructed near my house right know is under contract from the DOT. So I am assuming that it was designed by an engineering firm since it has E&S measures installed and gabions along the stream bank. As far as the...

Didn't see his name in the banner. Well just glad that he didn't have to rephrase his comments.

    Thank You Letters

I wrote friendly e-mails. Also I worked with three of my endorsers, so they knew after I came in to work that Monday and gave the "Hell YEAH!" scream when I walked into the office.

    What State's have recieved results?

With only a couple of states reporting, it is looking good of the PE's, lots of names on there. Keep it rolling folks and welcome to our sick little club. Just out of curiousity, how many of those who passed took the new construction option?

    License Renewal

Look on the bright side. At least you are renewing the license instead of paying for another exam!

    Home Beer - oops

No your get the Al Gore Golden Tree Lapel Pin. As far as having the heat down to 65 degrees. That would be tropical in my house. That is usually the higher setting.

So you like them like Roger Clemens.

    Home Beer - oops

Nice to see some homebrewers on here. I always thought I was one of the few oddball engineers who liked my adult beverages. Just brewed up a blueberry wheat for the Mrs. Popped the first one a few nights ago and I have to admit it was pretty tasty for a fruity beer, but I am more of an IPA...

    Construction

Probably for the same reason that most of us in construction (Heavy Highway/Vertical) do, because we want to be the project manager. Most clients won't let unregistered engineers lead jobs and with today's design/build projects it is almost imperative to have at least one registered engineer on...

    GOOD LUCK - and advice

I did the same thing. Went through the exam the first time and there were about 5 or 6 questions that I left unanswered and I remember thinking I better rush to get the answer because I must be almost out of time and I looked at the clock and I had about an hour and 15 minutes left. That is...

    GOOD LUCK - and advice

No sir. I went at this test on a mission. One and done. Took a review class that was one day a week August through April and then studied my tail off until the October exam. I worked problem after problem. I hate standardized tests and did not want to take it again. I should have taken...

    GOOD LUCK - and advice

Made sure mine was in box and was placed on top. The drive to the test location is a good idea. Since I work near where I was supposed to test I made a run a couple of days before the test.

    GOOD LUCK - and advice

I only took the test once myself and probably one reason is I took the advice of coworkers that had taken it once or more previously. That being said, good luck to those who are taking it next week.

    GOOD LUCK - and advice

Take a copy of the MUTCD if you are Civil. There is always one quick lookup on the exam and it may be the difference. Plus the book is pretty small so it doesn't take too much space.

    Airport Security Tales

While flying back from Oakland last fall I noticed that I was the only one who spoke English without an accent at the security checkpoint. A couple of the TSA reps were wearing turbans and a couple burkas. I didn't feel really secure.
